Wood rot and exterior trim repair across Maryland, DC and Northern Virginia

Rot in the DMV starts at the same spots on every house. The bottom of the garage door trim, the corners of the window sills on the weather side, the fascia behind a clogged gutter, the base of a porch post sitting in a puddle. By the time you see paint bubbling, the wood under it is soft for a foot in each direction.

Tell us what needs fixing. We text back within the hour, 8 to 6.

Or call or text (240) 616-4788. Hours 8 to 6, Monday through Saturday.

How the job goes

We probe to find where the sound wood starts, cut back to it, and replace the piece with PVC or a primed rot resistant board that matches the profile. Every cut end gets primer, every joint gets a flexible sealant, and the repair gets two coats of exterior paint. Then we tell you what caused it, because rot that gets a new board and the same drip comes back in three years.

Jobs we take

  • Window sills and sill noses on the weather side
  • Exterior door trim, brickmould and jamb bottoms
  • Garage door trim and the bottom of the side jambs
  • Fascia boards and rake boards behind failed gutters
  • Corner boards and bottom courses of wood siding
  • Porch posts, railings and column bases

What it costs

Rot repair is priced by the piece and the height. A sill nose or a garage jamb bottom at ground level is a short visit. Fascia on a two story colonial means ladders or staging, more time and a second person. A window reseal in Annapolis this October was part of a $217 two house visit, labor and materials. The estimate itemizes each piece so you can do the worst ones first.
