Interior door installation across Maryland, DC and Northern Virginia
A new interior door is the cheapest way to make a hallway look finished. The hollow core doors in most DMV houses from the 70s through the 2000s are dented, delaminating at the bottom, or painted so many times the latch no longer catches. We swap them for solid core or new six panel doors and the whole floor feels tighter.
Or call or text (240) 616-4788. Hours 8 to 6, Monday through Saturday.
How the job goes
A slab swap keeps your frame and hinges when the jamb is square. A prehung door replaces the frame too, which is the right call when the old jamb is split or the opening is out of plumb. Either way the crew hangs it, shims it, sets the strike so it latches without a shove, cases it out and leaves it ready for paint or painted to match.
Jobs we take
- Slab swaps on square frames, hinges mortised to match
- Prehung doors where the old jamb is shot
- Solid core doors for bedrooms and offices
- Six panel and shaker doors to replace flat hollow core
- Pocket door hardware and track repair
- New casing, stops and a painted finish
What it costs
Interior doors are priced per door, with the door itself on the materials line and the labor set by whether it is a slab or a prehung unit. One door is a visit. Four or more on one floor brings the per door labor down because the setup and the cleanup happen once. The written estimate carries the real number for your opening.
