Storm and screen door installation and repair across the DMV
A storm door is the hardest working door on the house. It takes the sun, the wind, the kids and the dog, and the closer gives up around year eight. Most of the storm door calls we get are a closer that slams or will not hold, a handle that fell off, a screen with a hole, or a door that was hung on crooked brickmould and never latched.
Or call or text (240) 616-4788. Hours 8 to 6, Monday through Saturday.
How the job goes
We install new storm doors from Andersen, Larson and Pella on the existing brickmould, shimmed so the gap is even and the latch catches without lifting. Repairs get a new closer, a new handle set, a restrung screen or a new sweep. Retractable screens that stick get the track cleaned and the spring tensioned, or the cassette replaced.
Jobs we take
- New storm doors on front, side and back entries
- Closers that slam, hiss or no longer hold open
- Handle sets and latches that fell off or spin
- Screens restrung in the existing frame
- Retractable and rollscreen cassettes that stick
- Sweeps, expanders and weatherstrip
What it costs
A storm door install is priced as one visit plus the door. The door is the big number and it is on the materials line at what the store charged, with the receipt. Closers, handles and screen repairs are small visits and usually come in at the visit minimum on the hub price list unless there are several doors.
