Door repair across Maryland, DC and Northern Virginia
A door that sticks every August, a knob that spins without turning the latch, a bedroom door that swings shut on its own, a back door that whistles in January. None of these need a new door. They need someone who carries a hand plane, a hinge bit, a box of long screws and the right weatherstrip on the truck.
Or call or text (240) 616-4788. Hours 8 to 6, Monday through Saturday.
How the job goes
The crew finds the real cause first. A door that rubs at the top corner has usually dropped at the top hinge, not swollen. A door that will not stay open is hung out of plumb and a bent hinge pin fixes it in two minutes. We adjust, plane, rehang or reweatherstrip, then set the strike so the latch clicks home without a shoulder.
Jobs we take
- Doors that rub, stick or drag on the floor
- Knobs, levers, latches and deadbolts that do not catch
- Hinges reset, replaced or shimmed
- Swollen doors planed and sealed on the edges
- Weatherstrip, sweeps and thresholds on exterior doors
- Pocket and bifold doors off the track
What it costs
Door repair is priced by the visit. A front door repainted and a closet door rehung in Annapolis came to $150 this August, labor and materials, one stop. If you have three doors with problems, say so when you text, so one visit covers all of them and the price reflects one trip.
