What storm and screen door work costs
A storm door install is priced as one visit plus the door. The door is the big number and it is on the materials line at what the store charged, with the receipt. Closers, handles and screen repairs are small visits and usually come in at the visit minimum on the hub price list unless there are several doors.

What moves the price
- The door you choose sets most of the price. A basic aluminum full view door and a retractable screen door with a heavy frame are a long way apart at the store, and the labor is about the same.
- Crooked or rotted brickmould adds work. The storm door needs a flat, square frame to hang on, so soft or out of square trim gets repaired first and the estimate says so.
- Repairs stay small when the parts are standard. Closers and handles for the big brands are on the truck. An odd brand or a discontinued door may need a part ordered and a second stop.
- Painting the brickmould while the old door is off is cheap and worth it, and we only do it if you ask.

Cost questions
- Do I have to buy the storm door myself?
- No. Tell us the color, the glass style and whether you want a retractable screen, and we pick it up with the install. If you already bought one, we hang it, and we tell you the measurements to check before you open the box.
- Can you fix the closer instead of replacing the door?
- Nearly always. A new closer is a fifteen minute swap and most slamming or sagging storm doors need only that and a hinge screw tightened. We replace the door when the frame is bent or the hinge rail has pulled out of the aluminum.
- My HOA has rules on storm door color. Do you know them?
- We ask you for the architectural guidelines before we buy anything. Loudoun and Fairfax HOAs usually want full view doors in white, sandstone or the trim color, and the paperwork is yours to send in, but we give you the model and color sheet to attach.
